The LAB470SLF is a 470-litre upright laboratory freezer designed for blood banks, research laboratories, and clinical facilities requiring sustained sub-zero storage at temperatures down to −40°C. It is suitable for the long-term preservation of blood products, biological samples, research specimens, and other materials for which consistent deep-freeze conditions are essential.
The cabinet is constructed from stainless steel inside and out, providing a corrosion-resistant, hygienic finish for clinical and laboratory environments. Four heavy-duty adjustable perforated stainless steel shelves support organised storage, while thick insulation improves temperature retention.
The unit’s frost-free design uses rapid hot-gas defrosting of the evaporator coils, which reduces the risk of product temperature loss during defrost cycles compared to conventional methods. A self-closing solid door with double gaskets ensures a reliable seal, while two separate internal doors provide an additional thermal barrier to minimise cold air loss during access.
A digital Bluetooth® controller with LED display enables precise temperature management and supports temperature history downloads, performance graphs, and live data access. Out-of-parameter audible and visual alarms provide immediate notification of any excursion. A built-in voltage stabiliser protects against electrical supply irregularities, and a pre-fitted temperature-monitoring probe hole supports connection to independent logging devices for compliance and audit purposes. Four castor wheels provide mobility within laboratory and clinical settings.

Safety
The LAB470SLF is equipped with audible and visual out-of-parameter alarms that activate when internal conditions move outside the set range, enabling prompt corrective action. Double gaskets and two separate internal doors provide layered thermal protection and reduce the risk of temperature exposure during access. A built-in voltage stabiliser guards the unit against electrical supply fluctuations. The lockable door restricts access to authorised personnel, and the probe hole supports independent monitoring devices for continuous data logging and compliance records.
Temperature Control
Temperature is maintained between 0°C and −40°C by a digital Bluetooth® controller with an LED display. The frost-free design uses rapid hot-gas defrosting of the evaporator coils, helping minimise temperature excursions during defrost cycles. Fan-assisted air circulation supports an even temperature profile throughout the cabinet. Remote monitoring, temperature history, and performance data are accessible via the Bluetooth® controller. The maximum ambient operating temperature is 32°C.
