The D70M is a 70-litre mobile vaccine refrigerator designed to maintain a reliable 2°C to 8°C temperature range during transit and in field operations. Built specifically for mobile cold-chain delivery, it is engineered to withstand the demanding conditions encountered during transport and in field clinics across Southern Africa. Developed and manufactured in South Africa to Global Health Cold Chain specifications with support from the South African National Department of Health, it is a purpose-built solution for mobile clinics, outreach programmes, and healthcare facilities operating in areas with unreliable electricity supply.

The cabinet is constructed in stainless steel — exterior and interior — for durability, hygiene, and ease of cleaning in field conditions. CFC-free high-density foam insulation supports thermal retention, and the upright format improves access and stock management during field operations. A pre-fitted probe hole supports integration with independent temperature monitoring devices for cold-chain verification and compliance.

Eutectic tanks embedded within the fridge walls sustain cold conditions for up to 26 hours at 32°C ambient temperature when electrical power is interrupted. Combined with dual power capability — operating on 12/24V DC from vehicles or switching to 220V AC from mains — the D70M supports continuous cold-chain integrity from loading through to arrival and operation at a remote site. A PLC controller maintains cabinet temperature to the 2°C to 8°C setpoint with ±2°C accuracy. Anti-freeze protection helps prevent accidental freezing of vaccines and temperature-sensitive medicines.
